Carrick-a-rede rope bridge mini print postcard was drawn as part of my ‘North Coast sketching’ series.
I sketched this image whilst pretending to be a tourist for the day. You forget what’s on your doorstep only 60 mins away! I’m always drawn to the use of spaces and the landscape around them. Carrick-a-rede rustles a mixture of emotions ranging from bravery to utter fear.
At my St George’s Market stall many tourists tell me their experiences of crossing the bridge. Many are very proud of themselves that they ‘made it’. Others are bemused at what the fuss is about.
Northern Ireland is home to the most incredible scenery. An awe-inspiring, cobweb blowing extravaganza. Anyone who visits our magical little country needs to take a trip to the Rope Bridge…and yes, even if it’s raining. It adds to the drama.
